I have to share I didn’t get to see much of a difference between the two when it came to visual presentation. Everything looks incredibly clear on the 4K UHD presentation as well as on the Blu-ray.

The animation is standard for what we’ve been getting from the current DC Animated Movie Universe series. So, if you decide to binge-watch both animated films in a day, be ready for everything (quite possibly) feeling way too rushed because of how Superman dies in one film only to come back in the next. Reign of the Supermen, on the other hand, doesn’t have its predecessor’s emotional heaviness and is more focused on action sequences. We get to see Clark sacrifice himself to save Earth. The Death of Superman is very emotionally heavy.
Even though they tell a continuing story, I do think you should still think of them as separate films. The current home release offers the animated features Death of Superman and Reign of the Supermen as a single collectible. But can they fill Supes’ red shoes? Can the world go on without Superman? We have Superboy, Steel, Cyborg Superman, and the Eradicator.

I did like how they handled superman tho. I didn't understand why aqua man and wonder woman were fighting each other either. And I think Thomas had a few screws loose to. I think the joker had several screws loose before he fell into the acid (if that's even what happened). I mean I like that part of his character, I just think he's wrong. I don't believe in the jokers "one bad day" philosophy. Like if he got that fucked up by his kid dying then he wasn't all there in the head before either. I don't really care about the Canon when it comes to dc comics because its just way to stupid imo so it doesn't bother me to much but I stil hated what it emptied about what kinda man Thomas was deep down. It just cast a shadow over Thomas character for me and I hated it. Nha you've become something of a villain in my eyes. I mean losing you're kid to some mugger and then have you're wife go insane, that's tough.īut for you to then become a hateful murderer who doesn't give a shit about if the wold ends or not. I also hated what it emptied about Thomas wyaine. Yeah I hated flashpoint because I don't like the whole speedforce thing.
